His childhood was spent in the beautiful coastal area in the western part of Holland. Where he loved to play soccer, fish and enjoy the outdoors. At the age of fourteen, he made his first steps in the hospitality business. As a part-time dishwasher at a local restaurant, he found his love for the kitchen. Soon after he decided to follow his heart and start a culinary education. He took his apprenticeships at the most luxurious and best restaurants in Amsterdam.
Upon graduation, he honed both culinary and leaderships skills in working and managing several restaurants in Europe, later in his career he was closely involved in setting up restaurant and hotel concepts. In 2015 Stefan and his business partners opened their first restaurant and plans for a second are in the making.
Traveling was always one of Stefan’s dreams, after a decade of hard work, he made his dream come true. For six months he called South East Asia his playground, and until this day it has a very special place in his heart and on his plates. After six months broke, but with a lifetime of experience richer. He found his first employment in the yachting industry. First on a 34-meter sailing yacht Highland Breeze and later on a 73-meter new build motor yacht Axioma. Last year he spent his time on the 56-meter sailing yacht Rosehearty and is now available for (freelance) work.
He roamed the world’s oceans and seas for five years serving his fresh and innovative dishes to wealthy VIP’s, celebrities, politicians and even royalty. Stefan has traveled and ate his way around the world, still ambitious and energetic, searching for his next opportunity to serve his first class food to owners, guests and crew. Stefan is always taking care of his guest and crew alike, with healthy and nutritional food of the highest standard.
