Before yachting, I worked in fine dining restaurants, a luxury spa, high-end hotels and staged at a few Michelin starred restaurants.
When I’m not on board, I’m traveling for most of my time. I have visited over 60 countries on five continents, and it never gets boring. I love to explore new cultures, discover new foods, scuba dive at amazing underwater sites, and go on new adventures.
Often I´m happiest in the mountains. Far away from the sea, hiking steep mountain trails, enjoying breathtaking views of snow-capped mountains, fogged summits and the peacefulness of it all. I’ve been in the Nepali Himalaya’s twice, I conquered a 5000+ meter peak in Venezuela, Walked the highlands of Peru and climbed volcanoes in Indonesia. My next climb will be in Tanzania where I will master the Kilimanjaro too. Can’t wait to go there!
Over the years many people asked me how it’s like to work on a yacht. Most of the time, I just say it’s awesome, but it’s hard work and not so glamorous as you might think. Then they see the pictures of me holding a cold drink on a white sand beach, loving life and they probably think that I don’t do much else. I can’t really blame them either. But there is so much more to yachting then it seems. That’s why I created this blog to let you know what I really do.
I will tell you my work, the long days, the crossings, the beaches, the cold drinks the days off. I will review restaurants around the main ports, and I will throw the occasional recipe in the mix too. I hope you enjoy my blog; Please let me know what you think of it in the comment section below.
